ABOUT US

Commitment to Equity

At Families United, we believe that building strong, inclusive communities starts with meaningful outreach and engagement. Our community outreach efforts are designed to connect families of children with developmental disabilities to the vital services and resources they need to thrive. We aim to bridge gaps in access, provide educational support, and foster a sense of belonging for all families in need.

ABOUT US

What We Do

Our outreach programs focus on providing families with tools, information, and advocacy to help them navigate the complex systems of care and support. Through workshops, events, and personalized assistance, we strive to empower families to advocate for their children, especially when it comes to securing essential services like Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), developmental screenings, and early intervention.

Services and Programs

  • Developmental Screenings & Early Intervention: We provide access to developmental screenings to help identify potential developmental delays early, ensuring timely intervention and support.
  • IEP, IPP, & Educational Advocacy Support: Navigating the educational system can be challenging. We offer personalized guidance and advocacy to help families secure the services their children need to succeed in school.
  • Family Navigation Services: Our trained navigators work with families 1:1, offering support in understanding service options, accessing resources, and advocating for their children's needs.
  • Workshops & Trainings: We host regular workshops and training on topics such as understanding disability rights, navigating the regional center system, and becoming effective advocates.
